My cats

My family's first cat was named Queen Anne. A couple weeks after we got her, Anne gave birth to a litter of kittens. One passed away, two we gave to friends, and one, Eleanor, we kept. Eleanor was extremely sweet but very shy and anxious around pretty much everyone except my dad and me. She was a great hunter, killing many bugs and once waking me up by plopping a dead mouse on my pillow. When she couldn't hunt live prey, she loved playing with pipe cleaners. Sadly, she had a stroke in late 2022 and passed away at the age of seventeen. She lived with my parents in another country, but I was able to visit the week before her death. I still miss her very much, but I'm glad she lived a long and happy life.

When I moved in with my partner, we decided to get a cat. We adopted a 3-year-old calico cat and named her Jadzia, after Jadzia Dax from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She is the cuddliest and most social cat I've ever met. Every night she comes to sleep in bed, and if I stay up too late, she'll start meowing at me and lead me to bed. She has a favourite toy ball that she carries around. When she wants to play or just needs attention, she drops it by our feet. When she wants food, she drops it by her dish. She even brings it to bed and curls up with it sometimes.
